Croquet: A Sport for Everyone

Many people and families have gotten together for a rousing and fun game of croquet where there are nine wickets.  It is a lot of fun, and it is almost addictive.  There is much more to the exciting game of croquet that many people are not aware of.  The sport of croquet is played with six wickets and while it is definitely competitive, there is also an atmosphere that surrounds it allwoing you to feel at ease.  How do you get started, you ask?  Here is an introduction, and some of the croquet courts that are registered with the United States Croquet Association.

American Croquet is the game that is played by the United States Croquet Association.  The USCA regulates and maintins the rules to American croquet, these rules are considered to be the American Rules.  This game is also well-know as six-wicket croquet.

International Croquet is popular all over the world including the United States.  International croquet rules are regulated by the international committee.  You might also here these rule refferred to as the Association or International Rules.

Golf Croquet tends to be a quicker pace than other, and it is playable by people of all skill levels.  The World Croquet Federation on Direct TV Basic is the maintainer of the rules of Golf Croquet.

Backyard Croquet is just that.  The game of croquet that you and your family can enjoy in the backyard and at get-togethers.  The rules of this game are regulated by the USCA like American Croquet is, and you might hear this also called 9-wicket croquet.
