Golf is not a sport that you want to be under prepared for, you know? I mean you do not forget your swimsuit if you are a swimmer, you need your glove in baseball, and you have to have your running shoes for a marathon. Just like those sports require certain accessories, so does golf. And I love golf accessories for many reasons, some of which are below:

I am all girl. Girls just love to accessorize.

I have a serious addiction to the game of golf so anytime I see something new, I want it.

Looking cute is just plain fun, and you should look cute when golfing.

It is a new year and I know that people make resolutions and such this time. My dear friend has resolved to take up the game of golf with her husband. And because all that is ever on their television direct tv packages is the golf channel. To get started, she needed all of the equipment and accessories necessary. That meant we got to go on a shopping trip. If you are a woman new to the game and are looking for all the essentials, then look no further!

Golf shoes. There are many brands of golf shoes out there, so you might have an idea of where to start. Just know that even though golf is called a gentlemen’s game, your shoes do not have to look like they belong to a gentleman. Callaway makes some adorable shoes that I would even wear off the course. Colors and styles have come a long way so don’t be afraid of making a splash.

Glove. I type on a keyboard for a living. I rarely do anything strenuous with my hands and fingers and even still if I tee off without a glove, I will notice blisters starting to form. Get a glove for your opposite hand to keep your hands blister and callous free. I love my Footjoy pink glove. It’s feminine and useful.

Golf bag. I have a few golf bags because I am a little bit obsessed. I like to change up the bag depending on my mood. Find a bag that is your style and you will love it. Make sure you have clubs too though! Starting out golfers will not need a bag full of clubs. The following clubs are usually in most women’s starting bags: a driver, a fairway wood, a hybrid, seven iron, nine iron, pitching wedge, and a golfer.

With those essentials, you could be well on your way to achieving great things on the course!

Adam Scott was born in 1980 on July 16. Since turning pro in 2000, Scott has won 8 PGA TOUR events. He is currently ranked seventh for the Official World Golf Ranking. In 2011 after Tiger Woods fired his longtime caddie, Steve Williams, Scott and Williams paired up. With Williams at his side, Adam Scott went on to win his first career World Golf Championship at the Bridgestone Invitational.

But Adam Scott is not just a man skilled with a set of golf clubs. He also has a large heart. He makes every effort to give back to his Australian community through the Adam Scott Foundation. This foundation gives to charitable organizations that are built around supporting youth who may be at a disadvantage or underprivileged.

It is so nice to see professional athletes take an interest in the community and world around them, and Adam Scott just proves that he has serious heart. Did I mention he is easy on the eyes too?

Find out more about the Adam Scott Foundation in the video below.

Thank goodness for the Golf Channel and January 6th when the Tour starts back up with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii. The course will be The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort. The defending champion from last year, Jonathan Byrd will be there to take on some of the biggest and best names in golf, including Rookie of the Year Keegan Bradley.

The Plantation Course is obviously incredible. It plays 7,411 yards for a par 73. While a trip to Maui would be quite a vacation for most people, you can bet these pros are seriously preparing for the first Tour event of the year to set the standard for the year.

Coverage of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions will be featured on the Golf Channel starting on Friday, January 6, 2012. Let’s kick off the PGA Tour right!

The year is almost over and that means that the holidays are approaching. Getting gifts for everyone on your list might not be one of the easiest things to do this time of the year, but if the majority of the people in your life are golfers, then it is easier than you think. You see, golfers love the game through and through. That means that they will be completely pumped to receive anything golf related for a gift. If you are still at a loss as to what to get the golfer on your list, here are some ideas for you.

Make sure the golfers in your life look good when they head out to the course. New gear always makes a nice gift for a golfer, and there is no such thing as having too many golf shirts or shoes. Golf shoes are not just for looks either. They come with some unique options to add comfort and more for the golfer. Golf shirts are the same way. Some are created to keep the golfer cool and others will retain heat to keep him or her warm.

Having plenty of golf balls is also important to golfers. Find out the type of golf ball that he or she prefers to play with and wrap them up. Honestly it might not sound like the greatest gift ever, but a golfer will love it.

Other things that would make for great gifts or stocking stuffers are things like tees and divot tools. Hats, towels, and socks are all good options too. And if you are still stuck, head over to a golf shop at a course and surely a pro or employee can point you in the right direction.

If all else fails, ask what he or she is looking to get for Christmas. Then you will make your golfer happy without having to worry about whether or not he will like it.

The PGA is the ultimate golf tournament, so all of the pro golfers naturally want to be a part of it. What is it about the PGA golf tournament that brings us out each year to watch our favorite golfers compete for the biggest prizes in the whole golf industry? When did it all begin? The history of the celebrated PGA Tour goes back quite a long way as it turns out. Although the name “PGA Tour” was not used until 1975, it has existed in close to its current form since breaking away from PGA America in 1968. Here is an infographic that outlines the history of the PGA Tour.

As the saying goes, you can tell a man’s personality by his watch. This is quite true. Watches tell a lot about the wearer. Men in particular wear different types of watches depending on the profession they are in and as such, their personality comes through from the kind of watch they wear. If worn for fashion, he watch shows his taste in style.

A watch, being a small time telling piece, is not easily noticeable but the fashion sensitive person will look for the watch on the wearer and know is style. The watches featured on blumlux.com are the most fashionable of all. The watch is basically worn on a person’s write either on the left or the right hand depending on the preference and the hand which is more often used. It can also be worn as an attachment on a chain or alternatively, carried in a pocket. The write watch is the most common kind of watch in today’s world.

The watch should be worn in a style that is most comfortable to the wearer. It should be worn tight enough so that it does not slide off the write and yet again, not so tight as to cut the circulation of blood to the palm or leave a skin imprint. Most people would say that a watch should be worn to rest on the write and not more than 2 inches below the written when the arm is hanging perpendicular with the ground.

There are as many brands of men’s watches as there are men and their different preferences. However, certain brands stand out as being stylish, fashionable and affordable. Some watches use low standard material and are not genuine. It is worth investing in a genuine and branded watch since these last longer and repairs are easy to do. Their spare parts and material for repair are also readily available. A man’s watch is typically bigger than a woman’s watch. There are many stores that sell watches and they are found just around the corner in many localities. Many are also found online and they offer free shipping facilities to the buyer’s location. They give complete details of the watch so that the buyer is aware of exactly what he is buying.

There are different price ranges for a watch. There are those who believe that a watch over one hundred and fifty dollars is expensive. There are others who will view a watch that costs over one thousand dollars as expensive. The difference is the style, make, brand and possibly the color. Watches that cost within the range of one hundred dollars are simple with leather or metal straps. They are also casual and can be worn with either a suite or jeans. The ones that cost in the range of one hundred to two hundred dollars are very much similar to those that cost in the range of one hundred dollars in that they have basic time telling facilities and come in different shapes and sizes. Those that range in the one thousand dollar bracket are much more sophisticated and can tell different time zone times.

Pine Needles – The amazing Donald Ross was not one to hold back on his love for the Pinehurst area, as he mentioned that it reminded him of his home in Scotland. Teh Pine Needles course designed by Ross is one that helps to reveal his passion ever more. The holes and the layout are all built and constructed around the natural landscapes and scenery. Just because the course is incredibly beautiful, you cannot expect for it to be easy. Challenging golf is the main reason to play at Pine Needles.

Tobacco Road – If Willy Wonka were to design a golf course, it might be a little something like Tobacco Road. Mike Strantz used land on an old sand quarry to constuct one of the most impressive and imaginative golf courses in the United States. This course has even been ranked as one of the hardest courses to play in the country in the past years, and it is, but the satisfaction you get in knowing that you definitely earn your score is something that drives you to push forward.

National – The only signature golf course in the Pinehurst area to be designed ny Jack Nicklaus is the National Golf Club. Trademark Nicklaus features like teh open fairways and incredible conditions are evident on the course, along with the rolling putting greens.

Pinewild – Pinewild Country Club is a 36-hole facility featuring one course designed by the Gary Player, The Holly. The risk and reward play on The Holly along with its beauty make it a great course to play.

Dormie Club – with the recent Pinehurst No. 2 update and now the Dormie Club, Coore and Crenshaw are no strangers to the Sandhills. The course was opend just last year in 2010, and golfers from all over have been raving about its conditions and play. This one is a must play as soon as possible because unaccompanied “guest” play is only temporary. Soon it will be private.

No matter your skill level, if you love the game of golf there are courses that you absolutely must see and play. Luckily for you, the Pinehurst area of North Carolina puts most of those courses right at your fingertips.

Sure there are golf course all over the world, and quite a few are extremely well known. St. Andrews in Scotland, Pebble Beach in California, and TPC Sawgrass in Florida are a few courses that may pop in your mind when you think about great golf courses. Pinehurst No. 2 is another well-known course, and it happens to be found in Pinehurst, North Carolina, a place known for its golfing. When you decide on taking a golfing trip to play a variety of wonderfully well-kept and amazing golf courses, then really you should look no further than Carolina golf. There are so many courses within one area that any golfer will get excited at the idea of being so near them all. There are a few courses that I think every golfer needs to play in the Pinehurst area. Take a look and plan a trip to the beautiful sandhills of North Carolina where you can experience some of the best golf courses in one area. Here are four courses in the area that are “must play” courses. Stay tuned for Part II, where you will find out five more courses that you cannot miss out on.

Pinehurst No. 2 – If you are looking for history and tradition, then Pinehurst No. 2 has just that. The Donald Ross designed course was brought back to its original intended design in 2011 by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. In the year 2014, the course will go down in history as the only course in the world to be host to all five of the USGA championships. That year the course will host both the U.S. Open and the Women’s U.S. Open Championships.

Little River – If champion style golf in a scenic setting is what you’re aiming for, then look no further than Little River Golf Course. The condition of the greens and the natural setting with unique terrain makes Little River a course that you will never forget. Dan Maples’ design is one that is truly one-of-a-kind and enjoyed by golfers at all levels in the game.

Pinehurst No. 4 – The original mapping from Donald Ross has been left intact at the Pinehurst No. 4 course, but in the year 2000, as his special tribute to Pinehurst, Tom Fazio re-opened it as an entirely new course. A course that is challenging thanks to its design and amount of bunkers, you can be sure that you will not leave without some competition.

Mid South – Lakes, rolling hills, and longleaf pines outline the Mid South golf course to create incredibly and scenic beauty. No matter your skill level, there is something for all golfers at this course. Arnold Palmer designed Mid South to allow all players to have a sense of challenge while still enjoy the game.
